How To Add Action And Clarity To Your Writing

Want to add vibrancy and more vivid imagery to your writing?  It’s not that hard.  In fact, using a writing improvement software, on its own, can help you bring more activity and clarity into your sentences and paragraphs.

Of course, taking steps to mindfully produce clearer and more vibrant text is also important, especially if you want to take a more active role in improving your writing abilities.   It’s really not that hard.  Here are some things you can do:

  1. Opt for strong verbs.  Weak verbs, especially linking verbs (such as forms of the verb, “to be”) and contractions (such as “we’re” and “he’s”), often play the role of merely telling information about something that exists, instead of expressing action like stronger verbs do.  Employing them allows sentences to ramble on, resulting in lengthy constructions and confusing prepositional phrases.
  2. Use the active voice.  The passive voice tends to conceal information, rather than reveal it.  As a result, your writing ends up being vague and confusing.
  3. Be positive.  Express your ideas in a positive tone, focusing on how things are, rather than how they are not.
  4. Steer clear of loaded words.  Avoid using words that require further explanation, including loaded words, jargon and technical terms.
