All of us have weak points in our writing.  It doesn’t matter whether you’re a freshman student churning out essays for class or a worldly-wise professional writing ad copy for the biggest agency in the business.  Some of us struggle with introducing new ideas; others regularly mess up their transitions; and some are just piss-poor at grammar and spelling.

To many people, proofreading can feel like an unnecessary chore.  Unfortunately, that feeling is unwarranted.  Proofreading is a vital step in the writing process.  Without it, you can end up with an unfinished text — one filled with careless errors and otherwise avoidable mistakes.

The less mistakes find their way into your writing, the better it can communicate your message.  As such, keeping your work as error-free as possible should be a primary consideration, whether you’re writing an email, an essay or an article for a newsletter.
