We’ve harped on many times about the benefits of a good writing software.   At the same time, there are folks out there who promote the opposite stance, claiming that writing programs aren’t all that necessary for anyone who frequently takes on writing tasks as part of their work.

Do you want your software to do English spelling checks and grammar corrections while you write?  Or do you prefer to do it in batches?

Some people prefer their tools to do one thing and one thing alone.  That’s fine in a world where software is free, of course, or incredibly cheap (as is the case with most current smartphone apps).  If you’re going to pay good money for software, though, you want as much features as possible.
